Folding your T-shirts correctly doesn't just help prevent ugly wrinkles. You can also save a lot of space in your wardrobe and never lose track of things! We'll tell you a few simple and helpful tricks for folding T-shirts without wrinkles.
Who doesn't know that? The clothes disappear without a trace into the huge piles of laundry and suddenly reappear crumpled up in the back of the closet. But you can easily counteract this by storing your laundry neatly in the closet after washing. This is relatively easy with trousers, skirts and shirts. You can fold some without much effort and hang up the others. There are several ways to fold T-shirts to save space and wrinkle-free. Some require a little more practice, while others are quite easy. We'll explain to you step by step how to fold your t-shirts in no time.
This classic version may not be the fastest, but it is a very simple way to fold your t-shirts to save space and without wrinkles.
- Place your T-shirt on a flat surface, preferably with a hard surface, and smooth it out.
- Now fold the sleeve of one side with about a quarter of your T-shirt inward, then repeat the process with the other side.
- Smooth out your T-shirt again and then fold the bottom hem inwards.
- Now fold the top hem inwards, you will see the collar looking up.
- Now smooth out your T-shirt again.
If you practice this method a few times, you will become faster and faster and be able to fold your t-shirts easily and straight. At some point you will be able to do this so easily that you won't even have to think about it anymore.
You can also use a simple trick to fold your T-shirts so that they are wrinkle-free and save space – in just a few seconds. Particularly helpful if you want to fold a large mountain of t-shirts and don't have a lot of time. But the same applies here: practice makes perfect!
- Lay your t-shirt on its side with the back side down and straighten it out. The collar points to the right.
- Now imagine two lines, one across the middle of the t-shirt, the other from top to bottom, between the collar and sleeves. These intersect at the top and middle of the t-shirt.
- Now imagine three points on these lines. Where the two lines intersect is point A. Point B is at the top of the line, between the collar and the sleeve. At the bottom of the t-shirt, where the line from point B ends, is point C.
- Now touch point A with your left hand, point B with your right. Make sure that you grasp both layers of fabric, i.e. both the front and the back of the T-shirt.
- Now hold point A and place point B over point C. Now cross your arms to place point B on top of point C. You grasp the two points securely and open your arms. That's it!
- If necessary, you can straighten the T-shirt a little more.
With this technique you don't save any time, but you do save a lot of space. The result is a compact and at the same time solid roll. Particularly suitable if you want to fold your T-shirts to save space and wrinkle-free at the same time.
- Lay your t-shirt on a flat surface with the front facing up. Smooth it out with both hands.
- First, fold the hem of your T-shirt up about 3 to 4 inches. Now fold the lower end upwards and smooth out the fold. Make sure that the hem is folded evenly. Now make a fold over the bottom area.
- Now fold your t-shirt into thirds. You start from the left side. Fold this in half so that the seam lies on the imaginary center line of your T-shirt. Then fold the sleeve over so that it fits exactly on the edge of your T-shirt. You smooth the folded edge with your hands.
- Now fold the right side of your t-shirt towards the middle. To do this, place them on their left side; now both overlap and the edges fit together. Then fold the sleeve over; this should now fit exactly on the edge of your T-shirt. Use your hands to smooth out any wrinkles.
- Now your t-shirt should resemble a narrow rectangle.
- Now you roll up your T-shirt from the collar. You start from the top until it is completely rolled up. Twist the roll as tightly as possible - the more compact it is, the more space you save.
